a) To raise environmental awareness, encourage green living for social housing residents and work with social landlords to do the same.

b) To be the founding group of REGG, promoting the establishing of local REGG groups within Devon & Cornwall Housing.

Definition of “Green Living”:
Green living is a lifestyle choice, which offers benefits to the individual and the environment. This includes energy and water efficiency, recycling, reducing waste to landfill, reducing emissions from transport and nature conservation and healthy living.

Objectives:
We will achieve our aims through:

a) Raising the awareness of the value of REGG to other resident groups, and to encourage others to set up their own local green groups.

b) Promoting the efficient use of energy and good environmental practices, such as recycling and composting.

c) The design, management and promotion of the REGG website.

d) Encouraging and offering resources to others to provide practical projects that promote green living.

e) The provision of signposting to further environmental resources, funding and training.

f) The promotion of resident’s rights and the maintenance and improvement of housing conditions.

g) Being pro-active in maintaining good relations between all members of the group.

h) Striving to represent all the members of the group, avoiding any form of discrimination.

i) Encouraging residents to volunteer and take an active part in group events.

j) Being sustainable in the way in which we operate.

k) Raising the necessary funding to achieve the stated aims and objectives of the group.
