REGG Group

The Environmental Green Group was set up following a group of Active Community Tenants (ACT) members from Devon & Cornwall Housing Association (DCHA) attending a training course at Trafford Hall in early 2005, where they received funding from the Do It Yourself Community Action Programme to produce and distribute two editions of EGG (environmental green group) magazine and run a series of community workshops to assess the interest in setting up a DCH Residents Environmental Green Group. The group has also been supported by the Co-ordinator of the Sustainable Living Project an initiative funded by DEFRA looking at how DCHA can become a more environmentally sustainable social landlord. There was so much interest in the two magazines that it was thought that there could be a better way to advertise environmental issues to residents across a wider audience using a greener approach, so the Website concept was launched. At a consultative event residents’ suggested that the Website could act as an information point / signposting tool, to inspire and point people in the right direction for the advice they need regarding environmental matters and sustainable living.

CASE STUDIES - Has your residents’ group or landlord led an interesting green initiative/project. If they have, we would like to showcase it in our case studies section. Just download and complete the case study template, and email it to REGG, attaching at least one photo. With your help we hope to create a good practice bank of case studies to inspire others.
