What can my Landlord do?Social Landlord
 

 

  • Develop a travel to work and staff travel policy encouraging staff to car share and use public transport.

  • Set targets to reduce their CO2 emissions from transport, publishing a progress report each in year in the annual report.

  • Use local services and monitor and encourage contractor’s to plan their travel efficiently.

  • Join and promote a local car club project.

  • If they manage fleet vehicles consider converting to a cleaner fuel – electric/bio-diesel.

  • Arrange mini-bus or coach transport for staff and residents’ outings/ events.

  • Reduce the number of staff and resident face-to-face meetings, invest in telephone and video conferencing.

  • Plan meetings later in the day so participants can travel to them by public transport.

  • Facilitate and encourage staff to work from home.

  • Develop more ‘homezone’ pedestrian friendly estates.
